Whether you’re brand new to First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa, have been worshiping with us for a while, or are thinking about making FUMCT your church home, First Steps is the place to begin.
First Steps is a three-session pathway designed to help you connect with our church, deepen your faith, and discover your place in what God is doing through FUMCT.
|
|
| |
| Step Three: Become
Discover how God has uniquely gifted you and explore meaningful ways to put those gifts to work—serving the church, our community, and the world.
Because following Jesus isn’t simply about what we believe. It shapes who we become and how we live.
Join us this Sunday, September 20th, from 4:30-5:30 PM for our first Believe session.

Helping Our Staff Do What They Do Best |
We are blessed with a dedicated, experienced, and passionate staff who routinely go above and beyond to help First United Methodist Church fulfill our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. There is no job too big or too small for this team, and you never hear the words, “That’s not my job.”
Over the past year, our church leadership, with the assistance of outside consultants, has taken a careful look at our staff organization, responsibilities, and needs. As a result of that work, the Staff Parish Relations Committee recently approved a staff reorganization plan and updated job descriptions.
The goal is to help our staff work more effectively by better aligning responsibilities with each person’s gifts, strengths, and areas of expertise.
You may not notice dramatic changes from day to day, but behind the scenes, responsibilities will be better defined and our staff will be better positioned to focus their time and energy on the work they do best—all in support of the ministry God is calling us to do together.
We are grateful for this remarkable team and excited about the ways these changes will help them continue serving our congregation and our community.
If you have questions about the reorganization, please feel free to speak with Robin, Wade, or Cooper.

Best of all, proceeds from Craft Room sales are donated each year to local agencies serving women, children, and youth.
Come shop with us on Wednesdays from 1:00-4:00 PM, or contact Lynne Richardson at 205-242-9499 for more information.
