We are excited to announce that the Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities is now the Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing. Our new name better reflects the breadth and focus of our work—creating pathways for people with and without disabilities, families, and communities to flourish in all aspects of life together.
October also marks National Disability Employment Awareness Month—a time to celebrate the contributions of employees with disabilities and commit to building inclusive workplaces.
As we embrace our new name and future direction, we remain committed to advancing research, education, and partnerships that open pathways to belonging and flourishing in schools, workplaces, congregations, and communities.

- Congratulations to Kari Maddox on her new role as Program Manager for the Raising Texas Voices project. This project focuses on how different generations of Texans with developmental disabilities and their families view and pursue advocacy.
- In the months ahead, you will begin to see our new name and refreshed look reflected across our website, digital platforms, and materials. As you share about the Center with others, we invite you to introduce our new name and resources.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Dalila Ochoa and Tracey R. Jones shared about the Center's programs for Spanish-speaking families during a live interview on KWOW-FM La Ley 104.1. They highlighted our monthly Spanish-speaking family support group, research-based resources, and community events that create spaces where families feel seen, supported, and connected. We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate culture, community, and belonging while spotlighting the ways our Center walks alongside families raising children with disabilities.

Students from occupational therapy, applied behavior analysis, and school psychology recently came together for an interdisciplinary rotation at the Center's clinic. The experience, now in its second year, gives students a real-world look at how multiple disciplines work together to support children and families.

The Center's Collaborative on Faith and Disability welcomed acclaimed author and speaker Amy Julia Becker for two events that drew participants from across the country. Over two days, Becker guided parents, self-advocates, ministry leaders, and church members in conversations that reimagined both family life and church life with disability.

The RUBI Parent Training Program is a nine-week virtual course in Spanish for caregivers of children with autism. It gives parents practical strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and build positive routines at home. Families learn how to use rewards, set up daily schedules, and respond to their child in ways that make life less stressful and more joyful.

Family CARE provides parents and caregivers of children with autism with evidence-based, practical daily strategies. Through parent training workshops and one-on-one coaching, it helps families build structured routines and support children in achieving their goals. In September, 51 caregivers participated in workshops held in Waco, Temple, and Abilene. In October, two parent training sessions will be offered: Waco—Saturday, October 11, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; Canton—Saturday, October 18, 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
