Our School is committed to enrich the public health workforce with people who possess a deep understanding of their community. Fostering a diverse and welcoming climate is vital to our mission to promote equity in health care and eliminate health disparities in Oregon and beyond. 
The School of Public Health Dean's Scholarship Fund and the Barre and Robert Stoll Scholarship for Public Health invest in students from historically underserved, or otherwise marginalized groups. The Dean's Scholarship Fund specifically assists first generation college students. These funds will help students overcome financial barriers during their program of study and lessen the long-term financial consequences of academic costs. 

Scholarships
For undergraduate students, the awardees will receive a scholarship of $5,000 annually for up to a total of $20,000 during their study. 
For students pursuing a master's degree, the awardees will receive a scholarship of $10,000 annually for up to a total of $20,000 during their study.
For students pursuing a PhD degree, the awardees will receive a scholarship of $15,000. 

Who can apply?

Undergraduate students
  • Newly admitted undergraduate students for Academic Year 2018-2019
  • Returning undergraduate students for Academic Year 2018-2019
  • Students who applied for or were admitted to an undergraduate program for Academic Year 2018 - 2019. Students awaiting a decision about acceptance to the undergraduate program may also apply
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Full-time students
  • US citizen, Permanent Resident, or US non-citizen national
Graduate students
  • Newly admitted graduate students for Academic Year 2018-2019
  • Returning graduate students for Academic Year 2018-2019
  • Students who applied for Academic Year 2018-2019 admission to a PhD program. Students awaiting a decision about acceptance to the PhD program may also apply
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll for a minimum of 6 credits per term (Fall/Winter/Spring)
  • US citizen, Permanent Resident, or US non-citizen national

When to apply

Applications will be accepted between November 30, 2017 and Thursday, Febuary 1, 2018. The deadline will be 11:59pm (PST)Thursday, Febuary 1, 2018.

How to apply?

First time users
Will need to create an account to access their scholarship application by visiting https://portlandstate.scholarships.ngwebsolutions.com/CMXAdmin/Cmx_Content.aspx?cpId=199. Please choose the best email address for communication. This email address will serve as the user name. Once in the system, the student will be asked to create their own password.
Returning users 
Will be asked for their user name and password used when the account was first created. 
Check your email
Once the account is established, an email will be sent from scholarships@pdx.edu to the email used to create the account. This email will verify the user name, email address and provide further access to the application. Please add scholarships@pdx.edu to your email address book to ensure that emails from the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships are delivered to your inbox.
Password
Forgotten passwords can be retrieved from the online scholarship application by clicking on the "Forgot Your Password" link on the application and follow those instructions in order to receive a new password. Thanks.
