Participate in the Kognito Educational Program
October 3, 2022
Dear Students,
As we observe Mental Health Awareness week, we invite you to participate in our Kognito educational program. This interactive program includes exercises that can help you be more comfortable and effective when speaking with someone who may be struggling with a mental health concern, and to help them connect with helpful resources.
As an incentive, even if you have completed this program in the past, students who complete the Kognito program this week will be eligible to be randomly selected to win one of the following prizes from the President's Office:
  • AirPods Pro
  • JBL Flip 5 portable speaker
  • Instax Camera + film
  • $100 Patagonia gift card
  • $100 Tufts Bookstore gift car
All students across all campuses are eligible.
Since July 2020, when we introduced the program, hundreds of staff, faculty, and students have participated and found it very useful. One of the recommendations of the President’s Mental Health Task Force was for our entire community to better understand student mental health concerns, and to develop the skills to effectively respond to these. Tufts acquired Kognito in response to this recommendation.
The program takes approximately 30-40 minutes to complete and may be repeated as desired. You can access the Kognito program from the Tufts Counseling and Mental Health website.

One of the goals of Mental Health Awareness week is to share all of the tools and resources available to you here at Tufts to support mental health. Completing Kognito is one more to achieve that.
