#PetResolutions
#PetResolutions Title
Throughout the month of January, Victoria and the Positively team created the #PetResolutions campaign, which put a positive spin on "dog shaming".
Pictured above is Emma, who resolves to stop eating toys and dress-up clothes. Judging by the pink feathers around her mouth, it looks like her New Year's resolution might need a little more work!
You can still submit your #PetResolutions here.

Maggie's Positively Success Story is a true testament to the power of positive training.
"Maggie came into my life almost six years ago, when I was hired by her owners, of that time, to teach her basic obedience. Maggie was an untrained dog, who had already been adopted by several other families and she eventually proved to be “too much” to handle for her then adopted family.
I was informed by my clients that Maggie was again going to be returned to the animal shelter she came from, which is when I learned that if she was returned she may be euthanized, due to her being considered unadoptable, it was then that I decided to adopt her myself.."

Million Dollar Correction Question
Positively Contributor and VSPDT Laura Brody talks about what "corrections" have typically referred to in dog training, and a better way to think about changing behavior.
What does it mean when you say, "I need to correct my dog when they..." ?
The word "correction" has such a negative implication to me that when I hear it used by an owner, I get a little....well, negative. So, I looked the word up in the dictionary.

TOP TIP
The fact is that the majority of owned dogs have had no formal training – positive or otherwise.
Since dogs are now sharing our homes and our lives in ever closer ways, it is more important than ever that every dog be given a good canine education.
Doing so will prevent thousands of dogs being surrendered to shelters due to behavioral issues that could have been prevented.
Investing the time to teach your dog will make living with her easier and that investment could also save her life.
People who make time to teach their dogs lead more fulfilling lives with their canine companions.
A healthy balance of learning manners, encouraging sociability and providing your dog with the right kind of outlets will ensure her success.
The learning process does not have to be costly or intense, and the more enjoyable it is for the both of you, the better the results will be.
