EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Morgan Filler
We’re so excited to celebrate our June Employee of the Month, Morgan! Now about to start her second year with Active Wellness Center Petaluma, Morgan has actually been coaching swimming for 20 years. From learn-to-swim for kids and adults, swim-a-mile classes, masters swimming, age group swimming and open water swimming in the Bay and ocean, she has taught it all!
At the club, Morgan loves to swim with the early morning Masters Team. “Exercise is a way of life for me. I feel better afterwards—mentally, physically and emotionally. It helps me be a better person and I am more resilient to whatever the day brings. Being fit and in shape feels good and empowering. I want my kids to have a weekly exercise practice for themselves to help them with health and wellness as they grow their own lives. And to top that off, I want to stay faster than my kids as long as possible!”
“Exercise is an avenue to learn about myself, work through challenges/adversity and develop life skills. In a training session, I meet obstacles all the time—it teaches me to persevere no matter what the obstacle may be. Even if my body isn't feeling good, I have learned to calibrate my exercise and learn about my body's needs and how to care for them. Most of my obstacles are mental. I don't want to get up early and swim. I don't want to...(there are so many reasons why not to show up).”
Outside of Active, Morgan is working on expanding her women’s swimsuit brand, See Her Swim. She also enjoys dancing to live music, hiking, and making art in nature with her family and friends.

TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Erica Johnson
We’re happy to introduce one of our newest team members, Erica! After starting out in the food industry, Erica landed at Active Wellness Center Petaluma.
“Using my personal passion for fitness as a fuel, I changed industries at the end of last year and am excited to keep pushing forward. I'm one of those people who does have a transformation picture, and happy to share my story to help anyone struggling with finding their own motivation. When I'm not at work, you'll find me with my family, working out and riding the coastlines of Northern California. I often pretend to be a photographer and sometimes a rock climber (but end up belaying more than actually climbing).” Be sure to welcome Erica when you see her around the club!

MEMBER OF THE MONTH
Wayne Norman
Congratulations to our June Member of the Month, Wayne! A member since 2011, Wayne puts in a lot of hard work, week in and week out, to improve his fitness. Using swimming as his main focus at the club, he knows that a consistent workout schedule will help him feel healthier overall. When he’s not working out or swimming, you can find Wayne playing the drums or mountain biking. Way to go, Wayne! We’re happy to recognize all of your hard work.
