Reshoring has emerged as an attractive option for manufacturers to address rising transportation costs, bottlenecks at ports, and uncertainties with importing critical materials.

The reshoring movement is being driven by an increased emphasis on supply chain resiliency. Bringing manufacturing closer to home reduces risks and improves responsiveness.

Impact Dakota hosted North Dakota Manufacturers Roundtables; on February 12 in Eastern North Dakota and February 13 in Western North Dakota. These events focused on addressing emerging supply chain realities, fostering collaboration, and developing strategies to mitigate disruptions, enhance resilience, and drive growth for North Dakota's manufacturing sector. In addition to the four facilitators, the roundtables provided a platform for 22 participants from 19 unique organizations, to share insights, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities to strengthen their supply chains.

Impact Dakota is gearing up for our next session of Lean Leadership training. It will run from April 8 - June 17, in Grand Forks. Sessions will be held every other Tuesday. Register by March 25th and receive 10% off!

This is a national initiative from NIST MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) designed to significantly help North Dakota Manufacturers link together to build local and regional suppliers and potentially customers and thereby strengthen North Dakota manufacturing.
