UT has joined researchers across the country in an effort to stop industrial espionage: the Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CyManII). Faculty experts from the Tickle College of Engineering and Haslam College of Business will use their strengths in cybersecurity, supply chain resiliency, automation, and energy efficiency to better secure vital US industries and initiatives.

Jennifer Tourville, clinical assistant professor in the College of Nursing, leads the Substance Misuse Community of Scholars, which consists of more than a dozen faculty members dedicated to better understanding the impact of substance misuse on individuals, families, the economy, crime and incarceration rates.

Michael Mason, Betsey R. Bush Endowed Professor of Children and Families at Risk in the College of Social Work’s Center for Behavioral Health Research, has made it his mission to use technology and evidence-based treatment to help young people struggling with cannabis use disorder (CUD) decrease or overcome substance use.

Lisa Merritt, clinical assistant professor of nursing, and her team of faculty and students from across campus, designed a mobile application to simulate a virtual health care encounter. This spring, students in the College of Nursing will get firsthand experience testing out the new health care app.
