Beginning Drawing at The Henry Ford Estate
Students Meriam Metoui, left, and Elizabeth Schunck took their Beginning Drawing coursework outdoors last week to the grounds of the Henry Ford Estate. Schunck, who also works at the Environmental Interpretive Center, discussed native plants and animals as students completed their nature studies assignment. Lecturer III Julie Lambert said the course is open to students of all artistic abilities and majors. 
The University of Michigan Board of Regents approved UM-Dearborn’s fiscal year 2016 operating budget. The plan includes a 5.3 percent increase in the financial aid budget, investment in building and facility updates, and allocations to address enrollment growth areas. The plan also meets the state legislature’s tuition restraints introduced earlier this month.
UM-Dearborn's Formula SAE team is off to a fast start this summer. The team placed 8th out of 110 teams at the Formula SAE Series competition in May and earned the Toyota Continuous Improvement Award at the Formula North competition earlier this month.

Faculty earned more than $3,000 in campus grants and more than $500,000 in external funding last month. 
The U-M Board of Regents approved recommendations for promotions last month for 14 University of Michigan-Dearborn faculty members.
