‪Students and staff watched the Detroit Red Wings take on the Dallas Stars Thursday as part of the university's Wolverines in the 313 series. The series hosts regular activities in and around the city to connect UM-Dearborn to events that are uniquely Detroit.
Chancellor Daniel Little joined President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and hundreds of college presidents and education leaders last week to announce new actions to help more students prepare for and graduate from college.
UM-Dearborn launched a new 18-credit minor in community change studies this fall. The program is a collaboration between the university, Community Learning Partnership, Henry Ford College and community organizations to provide the credentials necessary for students to serve as advocates in a variety of community settings.
UM-Dearborn and startup Kidpreneur have collaborated to teach lessons in entrepreneurship to local youth. The company began working with the university in January after earning a Small Company Internship Award and has since employed four College of Engineering and Computer Science students to lead classes in technology and innovation. 
David Flak returned to school after a company buyout left him without a job. This Saturday, he'll graduate from UM-Dearborn with a business administration degree, a new job and a renewed passion for his work. 
The Office of Metropolitan Impact currently is seeking participants interested in sharing the work they do throughout the metropolitan area for the Inaugural Community Engagement Day. Plus, meet the new class of Public Allies Metro Detroit.
