Calliope Cafe

This free monthly open mic for Berkshire high school students showcases their talents—in music, dance, poetry, and more. The Calliope Cafe is curated by Mark Franklin, who used to teach at Wahconah Regional High School. While there, he started the Calliope Cafe, and it has been at The Stationery Factory for almost two years. Johnny Irion Live

Troubadour Johnny Irion will perform at the Spencertown Academy Arts Center, just over the state line in New York. The American original will sing folk, rock, roots, and everything in-between. He has performed and collaborated with Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Jeff Bridges and John Goodwin (Crazy Heart), Wilco, and others. More info

Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington will host its annual Pride Week Lecture on Friday at 3:30 p.m. with Dr. Kyle Velte, who will speak on "The Legal Minefield for LGBTQ+ People and How You Can Make a Difference." And Berkshire Stonewall Community Coalition’s Berkshire Queer History Project invites you on Saturday at 6 p.m. to their first organized observance of Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV), at Berkshire Pride in Pittsfield. More info

 Total Solar Eclipse

What exactly is an eclipse? Why don’t eclipses happen every month? How can we safely observe the Total Solar Eclipse? What will we see from the Berkshires? Visit the North Adams Public Library to join Dr. Bob Donahue, Mt. Wilson Observatory astronomer and member of the Northern Berkshire Astronomical Society, for a talk about 2024's Total Solar Eclipse (which will happen April 8).
