Dear Student,
Fall 2023 courses will be available through the SIS class search for all students and in the Schedule Builder for undergraduate students on Monday, March 27, 2023. Registration for Fall 2023 courses will begin Tuesday, April 18, 2023, and will remain open for changes through Thursday, August 17, 2023. After first-year undergraduates register, open enrollment for all students resumes Monday, August 28, 2023, and continues through the add deadline on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
Beginning this fall, the add deadline for full-term courses will be one week after the first day of the term. Please note this is a change from prior semesters. All full-term enrollments should be completed in SIS by September 12, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. First- and second-session enrollment deadlines can be found on the academic calendar.
Students will be able to view their registration date and time on March 27, 2023, in SIS by selecting "Classes" and then "My Enrollment Dates" from the navigation menu. Additionally, the full schedule of registration days is available on the academic calendar and outlined below. Undergraduate students can review how class standing is determined.
Beginning March 27, you may add courses to your shopping cart. Make sure to validate the courses in your cart. The validation process helps you prepare for registration by identifying courses that are unavailable for enrollment due to enrollment requirements you do not meet or time conflicts. Please note, successfully validating the courses in the shopping cart does NOT guarantee registration in the course, as conflicts may arise between validation and registration. On March 27, an advising hold will be applied to your record, with the exception of students enrolled in the Engineering Management Master's program. Please make an appointment to meet with your advisor before your enrollment appointment so they can review your enrollment plans and release this hold. You may have additional holds on your record that may prevent registration. It is important to review and address holds in advance of registration, or you may not be able to register at your appointed time.
We urge you to review Class Notes for every class you plan to enroll in to look for additional information. Students are expected to attend their classes at the times listed in SIS; enrolling in a course that has a time conflict error because it overlaps with another course is strongly discouraged. In a rare circumstance where such enrollment is permitted, the instructor in the course to be added must submit an Enrollment Correction form for students to be enrolled. Students will not be able to self-enroll in any course that conflicts with the time of another course.
Registration Dates
April 18 – Fall 2023 registration for all Graduate and Postbac students
April 19 – Fall 2023 registration for undergraduate engineers, BFA, and SMFA and NEC combined-degree students
April 20 – Fall 2023 registration for rising LA Seniors including 5th years (first- or second-semester senior in Fall 2023)
April 21 – Fall 2023 registration for rising LA Juniors (first- or second-semester junior in Fall 2023)
April 24 – Fall 2023 registration for rising LA Sophomores (first- or second-semester sophomores in Fall 2023)
