Dear Colleague,
We are pleased to notify you of compensation increases that took effect on April 26, 2026 for positions covered by the collective bargaining agreement with United Academics of KU. Details regarding your new compensation rate are available to view by logging in to HR/Pay Employee Self Service and selecting the MY Compensation tile.
The collective bargaining contract sets salary minimum for each faculty and unclassified academic staff by job title at each rank. Faculty and academic staff who have salaries below the minima have been moved to the appropriate minima for their position or to 1%, whichever is greater. Faculty and unclassified academic staff who have not experienced a pay increase due to an increase to the minima, shall have their pay increased by 1%. All faculty and unclassified academic staff will see a row dated 4/26/26 which reflects a base salary increase to bring bargaining unit members up to the contract minimum or 1%, whichever is greater.
Covered bargaining unit members identified by their leadership for a Unit Allocated Discretionary Fund Increase to address compression, retention, and/or performance-based activities, will see a second compensation increase dated 4/26/26. The bi-weekly rate reflected on 4/26/26 will begin to be paid on the May 22, 2026 paycheck.
Since salary adjustments were agreed to be retroactive to January 18, 2026, the University will be processing a lump sum payment to you on a separate on-cycle paycheck on May 8, 2026. This payment will cover the retroactive portion of your compensation increase for the period of January 18, 2026 – April 25, 2026.
We greatly appreciate your continued contributions to the university and the important work you perform in support of our academic, research, and service missions. If you have questions regarding your compensation or need assistance navigating Employee Self Service, please contact Human Resources at hrdept@ku.edu or your supervisor for support.
Sincerely,
|
