Welcome faculty, staff, and students to a new academic year! The Office of Undergraduate Research is incredibly excited about the research opportunities in store for students this coming year. For the fall semester, 244 students are being awarded funding to do research with faculty mentors as Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) scholars, Wilkes Scholars, Honors Thesis Completion Awardees, Early Exploration Scholars, Dee Foundation Scholarship recipients, and Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters Scholarship recipients.
Some things you may have missed this summer included the publication of RANGE: Undergraduate Research Journal and OUR’s annual report.
Check out this newsletter to see what is in store for the fall including research tours and our dynamic education series.
And also welcome to the team, Cade Faragher!
We look forward to collaborating with our research community to make 2025–2026 another impactful year where U undergraduate students are part of the research enterprise.
If you have questions or need support, please reach out to our@utah.edu and encourage your students, colleagues, and community to sign up for our list-serv to get regular updates from the OUR team.
