New this summer, the NSF is offering three opportunities for pre-teen, teen and adult thespians to hone their acting skills. These classes are a fabulous way to explore theater and Shakespeare in a creative and supportive environment.
Summer Shakespeare Camp
June 1 - 5, 2015 / 9 am - 4 pm daily

Join us for a week of the Bard at Belmont University's Black Box Theater! Rising 5th through rising 9th graders will enjoy this interactive camp delving into monologues and scenes, games, activites, and general Shakespeare studies. Designed for all learning types, the week will culminate in a showcase of student work presented to friends and family. [full details here]
Summer Shakespeare Training Intensive 
June 1 - July 2 / Two Sessions Available
In this new professional actor training workshop from the NSF, you will study and rehearse Shakespeare scenes and monologues intensively for 5 weeks with other students and professionals, sharpening skills that will be useful in future rehearsals and for professional auditions. This workshop will culminate in a showcase performance attended by local and regional industry professionals. For ages 16 and up. [full details here]
Spolin Intermediate Intensive Workshop
Saturday, May 30 / 10 am - 4:30 pm

Join us for a six hour day filled with games to challenge the actor with a focus on character development, spontaneity, ensemble and individual work.
The Spolin technique created by improvisational pioneer, Viola Spolin, focuses on teaching acting through the use of theatre games. The games instruct the new and experienced actor in versatility of character through the use of vocal and physicalization choices, listening skills, taking direction, spontaneity, and understanding the importance of the ensemble. Prerequisite: Intro to Spolin with Master teacher, Jeanmarie Collins, or previous Spolin training.
