The semester is in full-swing and OUR is excited to share that we are participating in Latine Heritage Month. At the U, central to our academic heritage is research and teaching. We are so proud of the communities of Latinidad who have furthered science and research at the University of Utah, solving problems relating to health, medicine, social sciences, humanistic inquiry, science, and engineering our futures. And just as important is the research in partnership with faculty and students at the U to further the social needs of communities of the dynamic communities of Utah.

Every summer, the Office of Undergraduate Research Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) hires nationally competitive undergraduate students to work intensively over a 10-week summer research experience with U of U faculty.  

University of Utah tenure-line and career-line faculty are encouraged to apply to serve as mentors for SPUR 2026 (May 18-July 31,2026).  You can view a SPUR Mentor Info Session here.
