The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) fill a critical gap: research that's too advanced for basic grants but too unproven for private investors. For Baylor researchers and entrepreneurs, these programs offer a path to:
- Translate research into commercial impact
-
Partner with startups while maintaining academic roles
- Access multi-phase federal funding pathways
- Build long-term relationships with industry and federal agencies

Congratulations to all the competitors, and thank you to Computing for Compassion, the Association of Computing Machinery, Baylor Cyber, Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, and our ecosystem partner Startup Waco for making Wacode 2026 possible.
