Updates to Tufts University's COVID-19 Policy | May 25, 2023 |
|
|
Dear Student,
On May 11, both the Massachusetts and the U.S. federal COVID-19 public health emergency ended. In alignment with this, Tufts University lifted its COVID-19 vaccination requirement effective May 11 and strongly recommends that the general population of students, faculty, staff, affiliates, vendors, and visitors remain up to date with COVID-19 vaccines as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
|
All faculty, students, and staff who provide patient-facing health care will continue to be required to provide documentation of a COVID-19 primary series and a booster (or if previously unvaccinated, one bivalent dose) or obtain a religious or medical accommodation.
For more information, please visit the COVID-19 vaccination web page.
|
Symptomatic Evaluation/Testing |
Masks will continue to be required in all healthcare spaces at Tufts University until further notice. Masking is voluntary in all other settings.
Tufts University will continue to monitor local, national, and global prevalence and incidence of COVID-19; local and national hospitalization rates; and wastewater data. Tufts University reserves its right to change its COVID-19 vaccine policy at any time should conditions merit it.
With best wishes,
Marie Caggiano, MD, MPH
Medical Director of Health Service
