Shining a light: Opens march 8th International Women's Day

This year on International Women's Day for the sixth annual Shining a Light international photography contest and exhibition, the Muhammad Ali Center has chosen to focus on homeless women and the nuances of the issues they face daily. Each photograph chosen for exhibition has a unique story to tell. “Shining a Light: (The) Many Faces of Homeless Women” will open March 8, 2019 to celebrate International Women's Day.

Daughters of Greatness: Veronika Scott

Join us in welcoming our next Daughter of Greatness, Veronika Scott, a past recipient of the 2015 Six Core Principle Award for 'Giving' at the annual Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards.

Founder of 'The Empowerment Plan', a Detroit-based social enterprise,
Veronika Scott has built an organization that began around a single idea: to design a coat that transforms into a sleeping bag for homeless people. That idea has now transformed into a system of empowerment that creates jobs to permanently lift people out of poverty.

A hot breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m.
Program begins at 9:00 a.m.
Members: $20/Non-Members: $25
