The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber is proud to announce that our Project Coordinator, Brenda Dittrich, has been appointed as the new Asset & Scholarship Coordinator, effective immediately. 
With this change, we are delighted to welcome our new Project CoordinatorAlejandra Avila Cardona, who will replace Ms. Dittrich.

2014 Scholarship Recipients
The Hispanic Chamber is proud to release the 2015 Scholarship application and we invite you to apply!

In May 2014, the Hispanic Chamber awarded $179,000 to 65 Hispanic students living in Oregon and SW Washington. The Hispanic Chamber has awarded a total of $1.7 million to 673 Latino students. Individual scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,500.
If you are interested in applying, please read the general scholarship requirements and instructions below.  Good luck!
General Requirements:
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, asylees, or individuals who are lawfully authorized to work full-time without restriction for any U.S. employer and who, at the time of application, possess lawful evidence of employment authorization;
  • Applicant must be of Hispanic ancestry, permanently residing in Oregon or Clark County, WA;
  • Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA as evidenced by a certified high school or college transcript; and
  • Applicant must be enrolled by September 2015 in an accredited community college, 4-year college or university, or an accredited graduate degree program.
Applicants will be evaluated based on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities in the community, and written essays. 
How to Apply:
Applicant must submit a completed application and all of the following required attachments (all attachments must be typed):
  • Certified transcripts for a minimum of two years. If you are a first year college student, please provide your current college transcript, plus your high school transcript. All transcripts provided with your application must be certified and sealed official copies provided by your school's transcript office.
  • Two (2) current letters of reference. Letters should be written from 2014 to present.
  • A completed Activities Chart with the following information:
    1. List of current activities and hours spent on community service, extra-curricular and/or work experience, from 2013 to present.
    2. List of any awards or honors you have received.
