SINGER-SONGWRITER & INDIE RECORDING ARTIST
JOE HERMES
SERVES UP ROUND TWO IN "DOUBLE-SHOT" WATERFALL SERIES  “STRAIGHT UP” & “ON THE ROCKS
Showcasing Hermes' Passion And Gusto To Travel In Both Lanes
AVAILABLE NOW

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Indie recording artist Joe Hermes serves up two brand new original tunes ("Outlaw's Gospel" and "Devil's In The Details") in Series II of his “Double-Shot” Waterfall Series. Featuring angels, devils, outlaws and apostles as lead characters amidst scenic storylines enlivened by country and rock signature productions, the pairing of the singles ("Outlaw's Gospel" and "Devil's In The Details") is the perfect mix of intoxicating tunes.

A talented and versatile vocalist and performer, Joe Hermes is the dichotomy of country heart and hard-hitting rock. The recordings showcase his artistry and natural knack to appeal to music enthusiasts with an affinity for both genres.

“I have a kinship with country music and rock. …I'm fortunate audiences applaud both in my live performances,” Hermes introduced. "I’ve recorded tunes that I feel demonstrate my passion for the genres and my ability to travel in both lanes equally and deliver with gusto."

Hermes introduces Double-Shot Series II with the simultaneous release of  “Outlaw's Gospel" (a “Straight Up” country tune) and “Devil's In The Details (“On The Rocks” rock tune) AVAILABLE NOW on all streaming platforms.

"Outlaw's Gospel"
Written by Joe Hermes, Dale Oliver and Jyka Sirainen

The track blends themes of rebellion and faith, painting a vivid picture of redemption through love. The heartfelt song narrates the journey of a desperado weathered by the trials of life on a road less traveled. An "angel from heaven" redirects the "highway apostle’s" path of resistance toward grace. Two lonely lost souls kindle a fire; the destined romance glued together by kindred broken pieces rewrites their story.

Acoustic guitar and simplistic production capture the echo of an empty and hollow bar room frequented by forlorn patrons and lonely hearts. Lyrics, rich with raw emotion, depict a journey from darkness into a hopeful light. Lines like "there she was standing at a crossroads like a psalm straight from the Bible. We’ve both fallen from Grace with broken wings and halos; we put each other back together now our peace fit forever and ever" showcase Hermes’ talents to deliver a modern-day musical psalm, celebrating the power of finding hope and solace in another's perfectly-paired heart.

“Devils In The Details”
Written by Joe Hermes, Dale Oliver and Benjy Gaither

The original tune is a "smoking gun" that points toward the devil and deception in a world where appearances are a misleading disguise and the truth is hidden in the shadows, fine print, behind closed doors, and an exchange of hands. The hard-hitting rock tune and picturesque instrumentation afford listeners the visual of  "fat cats in black hats," liars, crooks and cheats, dark back-alley deals, crime, corruption and coverups. Hermes' commanding vocals pierce through the illusion of inclusion as demonstrative of the truth.

Hermes introduced his “Double-Shot” tracks with Series I (spotlighting the country tune "Hey Son" and the rock-infused "Black Label Country"). He will follow with Double Shot Series III (“American Muscle”/”Outgun The Outlaw”) in November. The 2024 Double Shot Series serves as an introduction leading to his full-length CD (BLACK LABEL COUNTRY) featuring country and rock tunes scheduled for a January 2025 release.

ABOUT
Joe Hermes (h•e•r•m•i•s•s), one of the hottest new acts in the Rock Country scene, is a bonafide ‘battle-tested’ entertainer. Dedicated to his pursuit and driven by his commitment to his faith, family, and belief in working for the American Dream, the Illinois native beams with pride he stands behind.

The good-hearted, fun-loving former defensive lineman packs a big punch with edgy vocal textures and hard-hitting musical storylines (both intimate and boldly straight-up) that sift between the angel and devil as a stand-out signature. His raucous sound and high-energy stage performances (self-described as “gunpowder country”) originate from his earliest influences (Metallica, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Pantera, and Bon Jovi). Hermes strings together intense, soulful vocals, with raw, honest lyrics and his “Heart of Illinois” roots sound to rev a captivating listening experience.

With the encouragement and lending hand of renowned music producer Buddy Hyatt (TOTO, George Jones, Lee Greenwood, Mickey Gilley, Tracy Lawrence), Joe recorded the EP titled SOULS WITH STONES to make his official introduction in 2020. Unintimidated by the adversity and challenges of both the music industry and the COVID shutdown, Hermes pointed his concentration toward songwriting working alongside Grammy-award-winning songwriter/producer/manager Dale Oliver. In 2023, Joe released his full-length CD, ROCKIN’ A COUNTRY TOWN co-produced with Oliver behind the board. The project spotlights, original tunes penned alongside Oliver, Dan Couch (Kip Moore/Cody Johnson), and Big Vinny Hickerson (of the trio Trailor Choir) including “Stronger Than Whiskey'' and “Used To Be Me” which landed at No. 46 on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart. Joe’s most recent releases, “Baptized By The South” (March 2024) and “Walk Away Whiskey” (June 2024) are enjoying momentum approaching more than  200,000 Spotify streams cumulatively. He will release his sophomore CD, tilted BLACK LABEL COUNTRY featuring 13 originals, in late January 2025.

Reinforcing his conviction, dedication, and talents, Hermes garnered early welcome and support from country radio, country music fans, and his peers. In three short years, he’s shared the stage with some of the biggest names in country music entertainment [including David Nail, Ward Davis, Craig Campbell, Kolby Cooper, Myron Elkins, and Kinsey Rose (The Voice) among others]. Establishing a foothold in the Rock ‘n Roll arena, Hermes has opened for Uncle Kracker, Black Stone Cherry, Head East, Jackyl and Lita Ford.
