Located just a few miles away from campus, Maplewood is home to over 200 businesses, restaurants, and boutiques, with more than 25 of them producing and selling their own products on site. Grab a novelty donut flavor at Strange Donuts, artisanal baked goods at Great Harvest Baking Co., or head to Mauhaus Cat Cafe to enjoy a coffee surrounded by adoptable cats.
Maplewood was the first in the nation to receive the Green Dining District designation. You can enjoy farm-to-table and eco-friendly meals at local spots such as Living Room Coffee & Kitchen, Kakao Chocolate, and The Blue Duck.
As you finish exploring Maplewood, head west on Manchester Road near Laclede Station Road to view its infamous backward sign, intended to be legible when seen in a rear-view mirror.
