Update on COVID-19 Fall 2023

Dear Members of the Tufts Community,

Over the summer, we have seen an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases throughout the country. While no longer a pandemic, COVID-19 is endemic, and we expect to see cases among our university community this fall and throughout the academic year.

To ensure that you protect yourself and others while being in a campus environment, we encourage you to follow the university's guidance on staying safe and healthy.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19:

Stay home and test.
Contact your PCP or the health center on your campus to schedule an appointment for symptom evaluation and/or symptomatic testing.

If you have been exposed to a case of COVID-19:

Follow CDC guidance on quarantine and testing.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19:

Follow CDC guidance on isolating.

If you want to maximize your protection against contracting COVID-19:

Wear a well-fitting mask (preferably a KN95 mask).
Attend one of our on-campus vaccination clinics this fall if you wish to receive a booster. Details will be shared in the coming weeks.

Additionally, we are asking supervisors and faculty to be understanding with respect to the fact that employees and students may need to miss work or classes due to COVID-19 infection.

I appreciate your help in reinforcing and following this guidance and ensuring we continue to provide a positive experience for all members of our university community.
