Dear Hornet,
There are changes coming to the financial aid process, and we want to share the following information with you.
Due to the implementation of new federal aid regulations, there will be some significant changes for financial aid starting with the 2024-25 academic year. The purpose of the changes is to simplify the application for students and parents as well as to increase the number of students that may be eligible for Financial Aid. Because of the new federal aid regulations, the release of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the DREAM Act Application (CADAA) for 2024-25 will be delayed.
Traditionally, the FAFSA and the CADAA are released on October 1 for you to complete and submit for the following academic year. However, due to the National and State regulation changes, there is a delay in when the FAFSA and CADAA applications will be available to students and parents.
THE FAFSA AND CADAA APPLICATIONS FOR 2024-25 WILL BE AVAILABLE IN DECEMBER 2023.
Additionally, due to the delay in the availability of the 2024-25 applications, the priority filing deadline of March 2 has been extended, and the priority deadline will now be April 2, 2024.
