Important Notes

Spending Money:

There will be a store open at camp if they want to purchase Young Life swag (t-shirts and sweatshirts run from $20-40). There is also a coffee shop/snack shack at Creekside if your kid wants to visit. They will be stopping for lunch and dinner on the way down and back. You’ll want to make sure they have money for fast food.

Emergency #:

During office hours (M-F, 9AM-5PM), you may call (541) 489-3100 and have a message sent to camp. After hours a voice mail system will be on. This is for emergencies only! Or email at wfr@wfr.younglife.org

Mail:

If you want to send your child a letter or care package to camp this should be done at least a week before camp, or else it will not arrive on time. Creekside is located at Washington Family Ranch in Central Oregon. Address is: Creekside at Washington Family Ranch, PO BOX 220, Antelope, OR 97001 Make sure you put your camper’s name and our area name/number “Gig Harbor/Peninsula WA25” on the envelope.

Medicine:

In accordance with current Oregon state law, any camper under the age of 18 participating in a summer Young Life Camp must check in all medications brought with them to camp to be administered by a member of the medical team. Also, note that we cannot dispense medical marijuana as YL adheres to the federal guidelines not the state. At camp check-in your child must turn in all medicine. Please have it in a zip lock bag with your child’s name on it and WA25 and medicine in original packaging for instructions. (If your child needs to keep their epipen, inhaler, etc. with them at all times, please tell the trip leader at check-in). Common over-the-counter drugs like ibuprofen have to be turned in as well, or just have your child leave them at home, as the camp has these on hand to administer.

Electronics:

If you choose to bring an electronic device to use during travel, it will be collected and stored securely after the bus ride and for the duration of camp and returned to you for the trip home (this includes cell phones). There is no cell reception or wireless internet at camp. (Leaders will have their phones to take pictures)

Packing List:

(Bring 1 suitcase/duffle bag, 1 backpack for the bus (if needed), plus sleeping bag or linens)

• Casual Clothes – jeans, shorts, t-shirts, jacket, sweatshirt... Think enough clothes for 5 days at camp, (pack some warmer clothes for cooler evenings, and some extra undergarments and clothing in case things get wet/dirty)
• Dark Clothes – We suggest packing something dark that they can move in and be able to get sweaty/dirty in (sweatpants, shorts, or stretch pants, t-shirt or sweatshirt). Camouflage is great too! They will probably not want to wear these the rest of camp.
• Swimsuit
• Sunscreen (maybe some Aloe)
• Sunglasses and/or hat
