[Advance Notice] Job Families Update | Week of Dec. 2

We are starting weekly updates and sharing with people leaders first.

Dear People Leader,

Later today, we will share the following updates with your direct reports who are included in the first wave of Job Families. I encourage you to read it for your own awareness. We have created these helpful talking points to support you with any questions that may arise. Please engage your HR Partner if you have any concerns. We have also created this timeline of key dates for this first phase.

Dear Colleagues,

As we welcome you back from the Holiday break, we want to provide you with a brief update on our progress and what you can expect over the next several weeks.

Thank you for your engagement and feedback in the Wave 1 Job Family information sessions held on Nov. 13 and Nov. 14. Your input has helped us update our approach to communication moving forward. We have adjusted our plans to be sure to keep you informed, allow time for additional review and developed an approach to address any outliers. Although the effective date for Wave 1 is Dec. 1, changes will not be keyed in OneUSG Connect until mid-January.

Below is the Wave 1 implementation timeline with more detail. You can also view the Job Family Key Dates Infographic by clicking here:

As of Nov. 22
Executive sponsors are reviewing the final draft crosswalk (or proposed updates) with their senior leadership teams, critical stakeholders, and HR partners to identify any necessary changes.

Dec. 2 to 13
HR Partners will work with their leaders in their units to review the list of impacted employees and identify:

Employees who are in the correct position and ready to be moved (crosswalked) into an equivalent position in the new job family, or
Employees who are currently in an incorrect position that need to be reviewed by HR Partners in collaboration with their supervisors and the unit executive, and finance partners to identify an appropriate solution.

Dec. 13 to 18
The review period concludes for executive sponsors and HR Partners.

The Wave 1 position crosswalk will be posted on the Job Family website.
HR Partners will enter job code transactions to update employee job titles from Dec. 18 to January 17, 2025. The effective date for all transactions will be December 1.

I will email you each week and post regular updates on the Job Family website. Here is a visual timeline of the implementation plan through mid-January 2025.
