OCTOBER 2023

FROM THE PARENT PROGRAM DIRECTOR

It’s hard to believe, but we are officially at the halfway point of the semester. I hope your student is enjoying all the beauty of God’s creation that surrounds them on campus. Currently, we are putting the final preparations on all the wonderful events planned for Bisons Weekend on Nov. 9-11. We appreciate every area on campus that is working hard to make this a memorable experience for everyone. If you are able to come, don't miss the Parent Lunch and Learn on Friday and the Pancakes with the President Breakfast on Saturday.
Make sure you stop by the parent engagement tent on Saturday during Bisons Weekend to meet the parent engagement team and the Parent Leadership Council.

Go Bisons!

Director of Parent Engagement

Bison Parent Prayer Gathering image
Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 10:55 a.m. CT for our monthly Zoom. This is a great moment for all Bisons near and far to come together to talk and pray at the same time our students are in chapel. During our time, we will discuss prayer requests, sing praises and close in prayer led by Deron Smith. Deron serves Lipscomb as the director of the Baxter Chair of Pastoral Leadership.

FINANCIAL AID

Typically, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been available beginning October 1st. However, because of significant changes to the application, the 2024-2025 FAFSA will not be available until later this year. Please keep an eye out in parent news and studentaid.gov for updates.
Get an FSA ID
You need a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID before you start the FAFSA®. Unlike previous years, you can no longer start the FAFSA® without already having it. We recommend that you make your FSA ID at least 3-5 business days before you plan to apply, as your application has to be validated by the Social Security Administration, which can take several days. There is no penalty to get it early so get your FSA ID ASAP!

OFFICE OF SPIRITUAL FORMATION

Herd in Prayer
Our community is built on and sustained by prayer. That’s why each year we pray over every member of our community by name during On the First Day We Pray. That’s also why Lipscomb's Office of Spiritual Formation has begun publishing “Herd in Prayer,” a calendar with daily prompts to cover our community in specific prayers. Herd in Prayer will be published each month and shared in various ways with our community. We hope you will join us by downloading the calendar
