UT's Suresh Babu
Suresh Babu has been appointed senior advisor for research and STEM workforce development initiatives at UT, in a role that will focus on strategic investments in research and development, and curricular innovations aimed at preparing a 21st-century STEM workforce. The position will serve the Office of the Provost and Office of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development to advise on emerging national trends and opportunities to position UT as a thought leader in the national and global community.

Tara Moore, UT's Department of Theory & Practice in Teacher Education
Faculty in the Department of Theory and Practice in Teacher Education will receive a $3.7 million grant from the US Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs to provide doctoral-level training for future researchers and preparers of special education personnel. 
UT High Performance & Scientific Computing
A new cluster, the ISAAC Next Generation or ISAAC-NG, is now available for general use by the University research community. Resesarchers new to ISAAC or requiring extra training can register for a Zoom for a workshop series being held January 18 through January 21, 2022. 
Deadric Williams, UT's Department of Sociology
Finalists have been announced for the William T. Grant Foundation Scholar’s Program, including Deadric Williams, assistant professor of sociology. Williams's project is an extension of his ongoing work to understand racial inequality in poverty.
