Mother Language Day: come join us in 308 Grant Hall tomorrow (Wednesday, 25 February) from 3-4PM to celebrate all the languages we speak and learn at UIC! Everyone in the UIC Community is welcome to share snacks and tea and chat about the languages in their life. Can’t make it then? Share your favorite word(s), tell your language story, add yourself to the UIC Language Map, and encourage your students and colleagues to do so as well!
Did you know that the majority of LCLC Language Learning Assistants (LLAs) come from majors outside of LCSL? While many do major or minor in a language, LCLC helps students from psychology, biology, neuroscience, architecture, business, criminology, English, history, math, sociology (and more) deepen their involvement with language programs and professionalize what they learn in their language and culture courses. The work they do and the skills they build help them stand out in the job market and thrive in a modern globally interconnected world!
Follow @lclc_peer_tutoring on Instagram! All our tutors/LLAs post about art, music, major cultural figures, festivals, proverbs, expressions, and much more for the languages they study and tutor: it’s a lot of fun and a great resource for your students! Need quick info? Check out the stories!
In/Between: LLAs Brett (Spanish) and Kanimoli (French) are presenting their work on Thursday morning at In/Between: stop by to support them (and all undergrad presenters) and learn about their internships with the LCLC!
