Dear Student,
On May 11, both the Massachusetts and the U.S. federal COVID-19 public health emergency will end. In alignment with this, Tufts University will lift its COVID-19 vaccination requirement effective May 11 and will strongly recommend that the general population of students, faculty, staff, affiliates, vendors, and visitors remain up to date with COVID-19 vaccines as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Clinical Population
All faculty, students, and staff who provide patient-facing healthcare will continue to be required to provide documentation of a COVID-19 primary series and a booster (or if previously unvaccinated, one bivalent dose) or obtain a religious or medical accommodation.
Symptomatic Evaluation/Testing
The university will continue to provide symptomatic evaluation and testing by appointment only.
Masking
Masks will continue to be required in all healthcare spaces at Tufts University until further notice. Masking is voluntary in all other settings.
Tufts University will continue to monitor local, national, and global prevalence and incidence of COVID-19; local and national hospitalization rates; and wastewater data. Tufts University reserves its right to change its COVID-19 vaccine policy at any time should conditions merit it.
