Hello Tufts Jumbo!

Welcome to Tufts! We're excited to have you as a member of the Class of 2021!

You'll be making your way to campus before you know it. Ahead of your arrival, we're going to be writing each week this summer with important reminders, key updates, and introductions to staff and resources. Be sure to check your email each Tuesday afternoon, and contact us at any point with comments or questions.

This Week's News and Announcements

This week, we're introducing some of the departments and staff members that you'll be meeting when you first get to campus.

Orientation

Orientation 2017 is Wednesday, August 30 - Monday, September 4. It takes a big team to plan and prepare. Our professional staff and student Orientation Coordinators will be on campus all summer long getting ready for your arrival, and they'll be on hand during Orientation itself, along with members of our student Residential Life staff, who will help introduce you to everything Tufts!

Get To Know Some VIP's!

We can't introduce you to everyone before you get to campus, but we thought we'd let some of our VIP's say hello. Meet Dean Christopher Rossi, Dean Robert Mack, Associate Director Ashley Austin, Dean Laura DaRos, and Dean Leah Gadd!

The Student Life Team

Our Orientation Team will get you started when you first arrive, but there are lots of other faculty and staff members at Tufts who are looking forward to meeting you!

Jumbos, meet your Student Life Team:

Dean of Student Affairs Office - We're your central hub for co-curricular resources at Tufts. Our office is a great place to start if you're unsure who to contact with a question or concern.
Academic Advising - We're here to help you register for courses, find academic direction, and answer questions about academic policies.
Office for Student Success and Advising - We're an office dedicate to first- and second-year students. We offer academic advice and connect students with co-curricular opportunities. We also have a bunch of special programs and resources!
Office for Residential Life and Learning - We're so much more than where you live. We offer residentially based programs throughout the year and are one of the largest student employers on campus.
Office for Campus Life - We support over 300 student groups at Tufts, and we work with Student Government on intiatives and programming.

Here's What's Coming Up Next . . .

Places and Spaces

We're going to introduce you next week to different places and spaces on campus and in the greater Boston area. We'll visit the residence halls and take a tour of some keys spots on campus!

Pre-Orientation Registration

Pre-Orientation programs are an opportunity to get involved on campus early, meet upper-class mentors, gain leadership skills, and meet other students with similar interests. We'll be opening registration for "Pre-O" on May 23. If you'd like to participate in one of our 6 programs, be sure to register by June 5. (Don't worry, we'll remind you about registration on and before May 23.)

New Student Checklist

You'll have a few responsibilities over the summer, and many of them can be completed online. Our New Student Checklist for the Class of 2021 will be posted on May 23, and it will help you stay on track over the summer. Keep a look-out for this important summer "to-do" list. If you'd like to look ahead, you can also start exploring last year's New Student Checklist. Just remember that yours will look a little different.
