You're Invited: We Made it, PDX!
For many years, you showed up for travelers, for each other, and for this place. Through every detour and delay, you helped bring something special to life. Now it’s time to celebrate what you made.
The new PDX reflects the character of this region in every detail, from a wave of local shops and restaurants to new sculptures made by featuring Indigenous artists from across the Pacific Northwest. When travelers say PDX feels less like an airport and more like arriving home, that’s local love.
Join us on Tuesday, April 21, at Loyal Legion for an employee celebration that’s part thank you, part check out what's new, and all about the impact you’ve made. Drop in, grab a bite, pick up new PDX swag, and spend time in the space you helped shape.

Be Knowledgeable: SMS Airside Hazard Reporting
An airport Safety Management System (SMS) is a proactive and organized way to manage safety risks in the air operations area (AOA). It helps identify potential hazards, assess and reduce risks, and continuously improve overall safety. The first step in the SMS is identifying a hazard, concern, or planned change – and now that's simple, anonymous and just a click away at go.pdx.com/SMS-Report. Curious about SMS, what it is, and how it works? Learn more about the SMS here.

Celebrating PDX Volunteers: PDX Music Program
Did you know that PDX is home to three volunteer programs – the PDX Music Program, the PDX Volunteer Information Program, and the PDX Animal Assisted Therapy Program? This month, we're highlighting each of these areas in honor of National Volunteer Week, celebrated April 19-25.
The PDX Music Program was founded in 2002 in the wake of 9/11, with a goal of using music to create a calming atmosphere for passengers. Today, the program provides an opportunity for nearly 30 talented musicians who wish to volunteer their time and share their talents with thousands of people.
From playing throughout the terminal to supporting events at PDX, the volunteer musicians strike a chord with the airport community. One traveler wrote about pianist Dan Hergert, "Beautiful music that really lifted the mood and got everyone in the holiday spirit. Super talented musician!"

PDX 2045 Open House Shares Our Strategy for the Next 20 Years
Do you know someone who’s curious about the future of PDX? Perhaps that person is you? If so, you’re invited to our upcoming open house events (in-person and virtual) to learn about the recommended development strategy for the PDX 2045 master plan update, talk with the project team, ask questions, and share perspectives.
In case you missed it, PDX 2045 is a roadmap for providing the space and facilities to serve travelers as well as employees, neighbors, and businesses that operate at or rely on PDX over the next 20 years. The recommended development strategy builds on community and stakeholder input gathered throughout the project, including open houses, webinars, and advisory committee discussions, and sets the stage for how the airport will evolve in the future. Materials and registration for the virtual session are now available on the PDX 2045 website.
