Dear Postdoctoral Community,
As 2021 draws to a close, I am reminded of our resilience and am hopeful for the fresh start of 2022.
More than 96% of the Vanderbilt community has been fully vaccinated, which has allowed us to gather together for the past several months.
We gathered together in November for our postdoctoral symposium, and more recently for our holiday luncheon. The Vanderbilt Postdoctoral Association is planning a number of wonderful events in the New Year to support professional development, create community, and further avenues of inquiry. I hope you have the chance to engage with your fellow postdocs and take advantage of these opportunities.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly or contact the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs if you have questions or need support.
I look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
Sincerely,
C. André Christie-Mizell, Ph.D. Vice Provost for Graduate Education Director, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs Dean of the Graduate School Centennial Professor of Sociology

Updated Health and Safety Protocols
Vanderbilt University has made the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and postdocs and our surrounding communities a top priority. As part of that commitment, the University requires all employees to (1) participate in routine on-campus COVID-19 testing or (2) show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Have questions? Check out the FAQs.
For Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) employees, COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption) is a compliance requirement. Compliance is met by having two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. A booster dose is not part of the VUMC compliance requirement.
