There are now two Medicare 101 info sessions each month, with different presenters. Inquire at the info desk to join.

John Waters will hold his first session on Friday, May 2nd at 12:00pm, then the first Friday of each month thereafter (June 6).

Andy Dow will hold his regular session on the second Wednesday of each month. May 14 and June 11 at 12:00pm.

Both Andy and John are passionate about educating individuals and helping them make informed decisions about their healthcare needs. The goal is to provide personalized guidance, ensuring that clients understand their options and receive the best coverage for their unique circumstances.

We are pleased to be able to offer more options on this complex and sometimes overwhelming topic.

Every Monday and Thursday, Senior Center members can take recreational field trips thanks to a partnership with Ride Connection. Shuttle Bus Driver Eric Duckett works hard to schedule a variety of trips for all interests, tastes and income levels - thanks, Eric!

Please Note: Rides are reserved through Ride Connection on a first-come, first-served basis until space is filled. Ride Connection will call you to confirm your reservation a few days prior to the scheduled ride.

To book your reservation(s), call 503-226-0700 no more than 2 weeks in advance, but at least 4 business days in advance.

May 5th, Monday - Seaside | 9:00am-5:00pm

Join us for a trip to the ocean! Eat taffy, ride the merry go round, or feed seals at the small aquarium. Eat lunch at a local restaurant or bring your own. Be prepared for different and changing weather. Suggested donation of $10 to offset the cost of gas but not required.

May 8th, Thursday - Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden | 10:00am-2:30pm | $8 senior admission

Join us to see this local gem in the heart of Portland. The flowers should just be getting to peak. We will walk the grounds and afterwards go for lunch.

May 12th, Monday - Silver Falls | 9:30am-3:00pm

A Senior Center favorite. Time to go back now that it’s warmer and the trees have leaves. Be sure to wear good shoes as the ground is uneven. Small cafe on site or bring lunch to eat at one of the picnic areas.

May 15th, Thursday - Hollywood Theatre | 11:30am-3:00pm | Free

Enjoy free access to this historical theater. They will be showing the movie Cocoon, a comedy about a group of friends rejuvenated by the healing waters from an alien life form. Free entry and complimentary popcorn. Also, the NH Senior Center will be serving brunch at 11am this day, so come early if you’d like to eat.

May 19th, Monday- Schreiner’s Gardens Bloom Event | 10:00am-3:00pm | $6-8 

In the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley, Schreiner’s Gardens cultivates over 150 acres of top-quality, beautiful iris. The Bloom festival will have flowers in-field as well as cut flower displays and a gift shop. Food trucks on site for lunch. 

May 22nd, Thursday - Fort Vancouver Officer’s Row | 10:00-2:30pm | Free

Free Guided Tours are given of the Marshall House, and other houses may be visited. We will grab lunch in downtown Vancouver

May 26th, Monday - No Trip | Memorial Day

May 29th, Thursday - City of McMinnville / Evergreen Aviation Museum | 10:00-3:00pm | Senior admission $21 or $3 with a SNAP card. 

We did lunch here last year and people mentioned they might like to have a full day to explore the town. There is a nice main street, and most businesses should be open on a Thursday. We'll drop off anyone who is interested at the Evergreen Museum, home of the Spruce Goose.

June 2nd, Monday - Cannon Beach | 9:00am-5:00pm | Suggested donation of $10 for gas (not required)

The other senior center favorite! Join us for some sun and sand. Bring money for lunch and layers for changing weather.

June 5th, Thursday - Portland Museum of Art | 10:00am-2:30pm | Free

First free Thursdays. Come see Monet’s Waterlillies and grab lunch downtown.

June 9th, Monday - Timberline Lodge | 9:00am-4:00pm

Sign up for one of the free guided tours or walk in the alpine. There are several restaurants for lunch or you can bring your own and eat with a view. 

June 12th, Thursday - Original Pancake House / Oregon Rail Heritage Center |10:30am-2:30pm | Free

Grab brunch at this Portland institution then we will cross over the bridge to visit this small museum in SE. Admission to the museum is free, brunch is not!

June 16th, Monday - Maryhill Museum | 9:30am-3:30pm | $21 senior admission

A collection of both American and European art, including sculptures by Rodin, and lovely gardens and grounds. This is a 2-hour drive! There is a cafe on site or bring a bagged lunch to eat on the grounds. 

June 18th, Wednesday - International Rose Test Garden (Washington Park) |10:00am-2:30pm 

We will spend the day at Washington Park, where the International Rose Test Garden should be entering peak bloom. People can also walk the trails and see some of the statues. The Japanese Garden is also within walking distance but those who want to visit will need to purchase their own tickets in advance. Lunch in the Pearl District

June 23rd, Monday - Lady-Lane Farm | 10:00am-2:30pm

(rescheduled) Lady-Lane Farm is a small, sustainable dairy who pride themselves on efforts to be environmentally friendly. We will get a quick tour of the operation including the automatic milking robot and then have ice cream. Ground may be uneven or slightly muddy depending on weather, please wear appropriate shoes.

June 25th, Wed - Guide Dogs for the Blind | 9:00am-2:00pm | Free

Included on the tour are stops at the client residence, the kennel complex, the vet clinic and the gift shop. This is a walking tour that lasts approximately 1.25 hours and includes indoor and outdoor locations. Lunch afterwards in Boring. 

June 30th, Monday - Hood River | 10:00am-2:30pm

Get out of Portland and explore this quaint town along the Columbia River. Options include watching the windsurfers, shopping, or walking the flume pipe stem trail. Lunch in town or bring your own.
