This Teaching Day will capitalize on the work done by three GW representatives sent to the Institute for Citizens & Scholars with support from the President’s office. Faculty and staff from across campus will be invited to participate in a series of interactive workshops around constructive dialogue and civic engagement. 

This year, Teaching Day is expanding to Teaching Month! Keep an eye out for the October calendar full of teaching-related workshops, special events, and cross-campus collaborations.

Interested in joining a team of GW educators to modify your course(s) in ways that respond effectively to the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence (AI)? We are looking for 1 or 2 faculty members to join the CTE’s team for the AAC&U’s Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum running from September 2025 to April 2026. No expertise is required - just an interest in exploring evidence-based ways of responding to AI and sharing what you learn with others. If interested, apply through this link by Friday, Aug 8, 2025.

First day of class is coming soon, and the CTE is here to help you prepare with personalized consultation services. 

Join us in the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) workshop in September 2025 (date and time TBD). It is a great opportunity to learn about QM’s standards, achieving alignment between learning objectives, activities, and assessments, developing grading criteria and rubrics, QM's peer review process, and using QM for hybrid and online synchronous courses. This is the flagship workshop from Quality Matters (QM), an independent non-profit that publishes research-based standards in online and hybrid course design in higher education. The course will be offered online, as a two-week asynchronous course, for GW-only participants.
