COVID-19 Tip of the Week:

COVID-19 CareLine
The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHAS) announced the launch of a new mental health COVID CareLine for Ohioans. Trained staff will be available to provide emotional assistance to anyone struggling with mental health concerns due to the ongoing stress of the pandemic.

The number to call is 1-800-720-9616. All calls will be confidential.

CHN Member Spotlight:

Asian Health Initiative
Asian Health Initiative (AHI) is a free clinic and outreach program in Columbus, Ohio that serves uninsured patients. A program of Asian American Community Services, the Asian Health Initiative is one of several programs designed to serve the needs of Asians, Asian Americans, and Pacific Islanders in the Central Ohio region. One of the unique programs offered at AHI is their Hepatitis B testing and treatment program. Hepatitis B is the second leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, and over half of the Hep B infections in the US occur among foreign-born individuals. In 2019, AHI partnered with Columbus Public Health, the OSU chapter of the Asian Pacific American Medical Students Association (APAMSA), and community and faith leaders from the Somali, Lao and Vietnamese communities to screen 135 people for Hep B during 3 community events. Uninsured patients who tested positive were referred back to AHI for free treatment and ongoing support.

FREE FACE SHIELDS:

Just let us know what you need
A grateful past free clinic patient wants to give back and help the clinics that helped her when she needed it. She has 3D printed several face shields that she would like to donate to our membership. Let us know if you are interested and how many you would like shipped to your clinic in the survey below. These shields are free to our clinics. Shipping may be covered by grant funds if we are approved for funding, if not, clinics will only need to pay shipping.
