Save Your Seat at the 2026 Ageless Awards!
|
Ageism shapes how people are seen and valued as they get older, limiting opportunities and weakening communities. Public narratives rarely reflect the talent, experience, and ongoing contributions of people 75+. These stories deserve to be seen, celebrated, and shared widely. That’s why we created the Ageless Award.
Join this year’s celebration on April 15, 2026, in person in Portland or online, as we celebrate the inspiring lives and contributions of Judy Knawls Boyer, Tony Leineweber, and Jo Anne Sutherland. Reserve your seat today!

Circles of Care Expands with JTMF Support
|
We would like to thank the JTMF Foundation for their generous $45,000 grant to help expand AGE+’s Circles of Care in Talent. Circles of Care brings older adults together with local volunteers who help with services such as light chores, rides to appointments, shopping, technology support, and friendly check-ins. These services help reduce isolation and make it easier for older adults to remain in the communities of their choice. The program also gives older adults a chance to share their own skills and support others, building stronger connections and fostering mutual support.
Among the people who will benefit are residents of AGE+ affordable housing communities in Talent, along with members of the surrounding neighborhoods.

| HB 4082 Increases Affordable Housing for Older Adults
|
AGE+ provided testimony supporting House Bill 4082, which passed in the 2026 legislative session. This bill is a tool for cities to offer more affordable housing for people 55+ and increase manufactured home communities by allowing cities to set aside land and streamline the development process.
Many older Oregonians struggle with rising housing costs while living on fixed incomes. Gov. Tina Kotek backed the bill, pointing out that many older adults are one emergency away from losing their homes. AGE+ CEO, Stephanie Hooper, said in the governor’s press release, “There simply isn’t enough affordable, accessible housing for low-income older adults in Oregon. HB 4082 would expand the housing stock older Oregonians need to live in their communities.”

Mark Stevenson Named New Board Chair of AGE+
|
Mark Stevenson has been appointed board chair of AGE+. He brings four decades of business and finance experience, proven leadership, and deep expertise in strategic planning and organizational development. Mark joined the AGE+ board of directors in 2020 and previously served as treasurer. As chair, he will work closely with AGE+ staff to strengthen capacity, advance key initiatives, and guide the organization as it grows its impact across Oregon.
Mark steps into the role of chair following years of visionary guidance from founder Keren Brown Wilson, whose work has shaped AGE+ and championed equitable aging initiatives statewide. Keren remains an integral member of the AGE+ board of directors. This combination of new leadership and ongoing support strengthens AGE+’s foundation, and partners can look forward to bold ideas, innovative collaborations, and continued progress on current and future projects.
We appreciate Keren’s direction and impact, and are honored to have Mark succeed her as AGE+ continues advancing its mission on behalf of Oregonians of all ages.
