HDR is seeking a Waster/Wastewater Design Engineer. Job duties include creating detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment systems and collection systems, preparing plans for water and wastewater systems, writing specifications, analysis and studying-level reports for water and wastewater treatment distribution and collection systems, determining appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, and conducting quality control reviews of completed designs. Stantec is seeking a structural engineer in their ports and marine terminals division. Scholarship Opportunities |
|
|
SMART scholars, through the Department of Defense (DoD), offers scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students currently pursuing a degree in one of the 24 STEM disciplines. SMART scholars receive full tuition, annual stipends, and guaranteed employment with the DoD after graduation. The scholarship is due December 15. Additional information is available here.

The International Concrete Institute Metro New York Chapter Scholarship |
The International Concrete Institute Metro New York Chapter has officially opened their scholarship applications.
Two students will be selected to receive a $2,500 scholarship. Last year, a Stevens civil engineering student was awarded one of these scholarships. The deadline is November 18. Additional information is available here.

Professional Seminar: Civil Engineering, Oh the Places You'll Go
|
This seminar will showcase a variety of Ms. Mazzolla’s civil engineering projects from New Jersey, around the nation, and even internationally. Projects will focus on the variety of work performed by civil engineers on a project, and the challenges of balancing and working with multidisciplinary teams.
Rebecca D. Mazzolla, P.E. is an Assistant Vice President in the Water Resources Group at WSP, located in Morristown, New Jersey. Rebecca has been with WSP for over 14 years and has over 20 years of experience in water resources and civil engineering projects. She has both a Bachelor and Master of Engineering Degrees from Stevens Institute of Technology, and Professional Engineering licenses in NJ, NY and MD.

The Hugo Neu Corporation Sustainability Seminar Series, organized by the MS program in Sustainability Management, is an effort to connect our students to professionals in the field of sustainability. Bhagyashri Wani, Construction Engineering and Management student, was selected as one of the 2024 PAHS Book Award recipients from the Port Authority Hispanic Society.
Jorge Bravo, Ocean Engineering PhD Candidate, received the grand prize at the Michael H. Freilich competition from the American Geophysical Union (AGU) for his work on satellite data visualization. The award, sponsored by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, includes travel assistance for the AGU conference and another Earth science conference of his choosing, exclusive career advice and support from a professional career consultant and the opportunity to present his winning data visualization project with NASA and AGU at this year's Annual Meeting on the NASA Hyperwall.
