January news from the Bald Spot and beyond!

Winter Term has arrived at Carleton, and students will be exploring a total of 332 courses for the next 10 weeks. Faculty like Andrew Knoll ’05 are adding to the course catalog with attention-grabbing classes that hone students' critical thinking in a confounding age of information. But he's not the only alum making headlines. Ben Halpern ’95 wants us to prove him wrong about his marine ecology discoveries, Maria Coryell-Martin ’04 is equipping artists, and Bob Benjamin ’87's notable career studying the stars started with his studies in math and physics here at Carleton.
