Alex Winsor, '18
Inspired by her esteemed mentors and hands-on education at UNF, Alex Winsor utilizes her communication degree every day as an account manager for Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK. Before this recent career change, Winsor worked for a nonprofit organization as the communications manager. She expresses a love for her career, and attributes her education from UNF as part of her success.
"The school of Communication was wonderful," Winsor said. "I thoroughly enjoyed my classes, professors and working with my peers. This specific department shaped my career and showed me what to expect for my future. My upperclassman courses were hands-on by including real-life experience into my learning. Professor Doggett especially acted as a mentor for me. She helped me find my internship, and encouraged and prepared me for my first job post-graduation."
During her time as a student, Winsor was involved with the Delta Gamma sorority and wrote articles for The Odyssey, a media company looking to effect social change. Winsor encourages alumni to stay involved after graduation to help students succeed in the future.
"Students look up to alumni, and look to their advice on how to succeed in their college career and shape their future."
