The StAAR Center's Graduate Writing Retreats are writing-intensive events designed to help graduate students make significant progress on their thesis, dissertation, qualifying papers, or related independent projects. Graduate writing retreats provide a supportive environment where you can focus on your writing. Each retreat includes weekly and daily goal setting, dedicated writing time, and the opportunity for feedback from graduate writing consultants as desired.
Please note: goal setting, planning, and feedback are part of the retreat, but this is not a writing class. The majority of the time will be spent quietly writing. Participants must plan to work on a thesis, dissertation, qualifying papers, or similar longer, independent project during the retreat.
If you are looking for an individual writing appointment, would like to meet weekly with a writing consultant in the summer, and/or are not yet writing a thesis, please see Tutor Finder or email Kristina.Aikens@tufts.edu to be matched with a writing consultant or to discuss how we can support you. We do offer summer consultations. We plan to offer a mini writing retreat in August and a full writing retreat in January, as well.
Sponsored by the StAAR Center. Learn more about all our semester offerings on our StAAR Graduate Programming page.
