On this day in 1976, Ted Turner purchased the Atlanta Braves for $12 million. Turner’s satellite television network made the team’s games available nationwide and made Braves fans out of people across the country. Several Yellow Jackets have made the leap to the major leagues with the Braves, most recently Jaylen Paden, who signed with the team in 2025.
