Director's Message

Welcome to the 2025-2026 Season! Our club had an amazing 2024 Fall Season and 2025 State Cup resulting in several teams achieving success, moving up flights, and continuing to represent the Best of the Best.

Our coaches, teams and players continue to excel across age groups. Results are clear with our players represented at Surf Select's regional/national ID camps, Champions League and Surf player commits to play collegiately.

The recruiting season continues through June as teams play Spring leagues, scrimmage and participate in spring/summer tournaments. We also have Surf Club Summer Camp, community-wide skills camps, our Surf Classic Tournament and Surf Club Community Event coming this summer.

Spring and Summer program details are coming soon to your inbox. Look for updates on these events and other programs that we will communicate regularly with our San Clemente Surf newsletter. There is always a lot to build on and celebrate!

New Uniform Kits

As part of Surf Nation we are rolling out the new uniform kits for all players and returning to a 3-jersey rotation for Home, Training and Away games. The popular Away game jersey will continue for 2025. Goalies also have a new look.

Coach's Corner

We are delighted to announce Alek Cucuk to our coaching staff! As a former San Clemente High School varsity player, Alek scored the game-winning goal to win D1 CIF. After high school, Alek went on to play 4 years at Sonoma State University. He is currently the Varsity Aliso Niguel Boys Coach and will be working with our older boys and 2016 age groups. Alek will also head up our skills academy starting in April for all 2016-2019 players on Wednesdays & Fridays 4-5 pm at Tierra Grande. These sessions will be open to the public. Stay tuned for more details. Welcome Alek!

Coach of the Year

Congratulations to coach Tori Phillips named Surf Nation Select Coach of the Year!

Tori received her award at this year's Surf National Summit held at Nike Headquarters in Oregon. She was recognized for her impact on the Surf Select program including winning the prestigious Super Cup Northern Ireland with her Girls 2011 national team. Surf Champions League

Every President's Day weekend our U14 girls and boys play in the prestigious Champions League. The annual tournament brings 50+ Surf Clubs to compete and be evaluated by Surf Regional and National Select coaching staff. Our 2011 boys and girls teams competed against Surf Clubs from Philadelphia, Utah, Montana, Central Coast, Monterey and Desert Empire. This year Surf Nation introduced a new technology partner, Taka, for video data analysis of teams and players. Several San Clemente Surf players ranked in Top 10 in their position by Taka. Well done U14!

Vegas Success

In March our 2008 NPL Boys, 2012 Girls, and 2011 Girls teams competed at the Vegas Players Showcase Tournament. 2008 NPL Boys team competed and won their top flight group with several coaches in attendance complimenting their dynamic style of play. Both girls teams finished in the top 2 of their groups. This was the girls teams first out-of-state competition exposing them to teams from Northen California, Minnesota and Vegas. All teams had a great time bonding in between games.

Thank you team managers and parents for making it a great experience for all involved!

Surf Player College Commits

Congratulations to Griffin Blair (Cal State Fullerton) and Kevin Castandea (Saddleback College) for continuing their education and soccer journey with college commits! Griffin and Kevin have been playing with San Clemente Surf Soccer since 7v7 teams.

San Clemente Surf: High School Recognition

High school soccer continues to raise its reputation with several collegiate coaches in attendance for our varsity games. We are delighted to announce that San Clemente Surf Soccer players represented half of this year's South Coast League award recipients. This is a great reflection of how we mentor high school age athletes!
