Welcome back! The Office of Undergraduate Research is excited for the start of another academic year. This fall the office awarded 201 Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) scholars, 20 Early Exploration Scholars, and collaborated with the Wilkes Center to award 32 Wilkes Scholars.

Last year was an exciting year and the office annual report shows that we had supported thousands of students with funding, educational opportunities, and research dissemination. We believe 2024-2025 brings another exciting academic year.

Please encourage new faculty, staff and arisen to join our listserv to be regularly informed about opportunities to incorporate undergraduate students in the research enterprise. It is never too early or too late to get started. And the office is here to support our research and undergraduate community.

Faculty Mentors

Apply to be a faculty mentor for the Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) 2025.
Benefits to faculty: a full-time undergraduate researcher is competitively recruited and hired by OUR with programs and activities wrapped around the mentee. 

Eligibility: faculty at University of Utah (tenure-track and career-line) eligible to apply.

OUR Program Partner meeting is Thursday September 12th, 11AM-12PM via Zoom

Get support with applications for research funding! Drop into Funding Fridays with materials, questions, or ideas.

Every Friday during Fall semester.
8:30-9:30 am via Zoom. 

Please note: No Funding Fridays on 10/11 and 11/29.
