Welcome back to Navigate U Updates!
|
The Navigate U implementation team focuses its efforts on the schools and colleges transitioning their scheduling services to Navigate U. By spring break, 10 schools and colleges, plus the Honors College, will fully transition to the platform!
Below, we share implementation highlights, updates, and tips for users. We remain grateful to our campus partners for their continued commitment to this shared platform.

Cyri Dixon, the Director of Academic Advising for the College of Science, is recognized as an exemplary Navigate U user with over 3,000 student emails sent through the platform this semester. Her comprehensive guide helps her Unit Lead colleagues as they prepare for their unit's implementation.
The College of Science recently transitioned their appointment scheduling to Navigate U. A familiar face at bi-weekly office hours, Cyri has been eager to optimize their use of the software. Her insights, questions, and suggestions help us streamline and enhance the campus implementation.

| Standardized Appointment Types
|
The Academic Advising Standards Council (AASC) unanimously voted to standardize advising appointment types in Navigate U. While colleges may opt to list additional services, six appointment types will be consistently listed across all schools and colleges. This standardization will streamline listings, provide consistent offerings to students, and improve reporting.
Similarly, the appointment types available for students exploring another major have been standardized across colleges for an improved student experience.

The timeline below outlines when units will implement Navigate U. While usage varies from just viewing or loading notes to full usage, the goal is broad campus adoption. As usage increases, students benefit from a coordinated network of support.
|
Navigate U gives users unprecedented access to student academic and contact information. To maintain the University of Utah’s ethical and responsible environment that protects the privacy and well-being of students, all users must adhere to the established purpose and policies of Navigate U.
Users were asked via email to complete the user agreement through Qualtrics by Monday, March 18.
|
Typically, students will book appointments by clicking a link and selecting from someone's listed availability. Occasionally, you might want to schedule an appointment with a student at a day/time outside your listed availability. If so, learn how to below!

As units implement the meeting notes and scheduling features, inevitably more questions arise. The Navigate U team is here to help! We offer several channels of support, and more training opportunities are in development.
For technical questions, configuration requests, access issues, or usage questions, email navigateinfo@utah.edu. For questions that are better asked in real time, join our Office Hours on Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m. MT and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. MT via Teams.
We are more than happy to meet with your unit to go over settings, provide a training, or consult on how to optimize your usage of the software. Please reach out to maggie.blanton@utah.edu to schedule.
