Hello Student,
With the new application changes, you may experience difficulty completing your application. We encourage you to file your FAFSA to the best of your ability and attend our
workshops for assistance this month.
For students that NEVER applied or submitted a FAFSA, the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) has implemented a one-time change that will allow students in this situation to submit a Dream Act application (CADAA) to help students meet the May 2 priority filing date.
Students who qualify for this option must meet ALL of the following conditions:
- First-time financial aid applicants who have never applied for financial aid / submitted a FAFSA
- CSAC is working toward a solution to allow renewal students (students who have completed a FAFSA or CADAA in previous years) to submit a CADAA if they are facing similar challenges with the FAFSA. Once the CADAA is made available to renewal students, CSAC will follow up with students immediately through email or a phone call.
- Have at least one FAFSA contributor (parent(s)/spouse) without a Social Security Number (“non-SSN contributor”)
- Unable to submit a complete FAFSA due to challenges with processing non-SSN contributors’ section(s)
Please note, the option does not replace you from filing a FAFSA and is just intended to help meet the May 2 priority filing date. FAFSA eligible students must still file 2024-25 FAFSA to be considered for any financial aid.
Please see below for the website where you can fill out the CADAA application, and learn more about the webinars CSAC will be hosting.
