Tufts Student Life
Applicant Email
May 1, 2016
Hello Everyone,
This email is about your HPRC interview and Part II of registration.
***Registration Part II is due today. Submit it this week if you have not already done so - That means your resume, your autobiography (different from your personal statement), unofficial transcripts from non-Tufts schools and a picture if you are an alum.
HPRC interviews begin later this week. You have received an email informing you of your HPRC interviewer.
**The date of your interview does not impact when you submit your application. AMCAS, AACOMAS and AADSAS process, verify and transmit to individual schools WITHOUT letters of recommendation.**
Your Responsibilities:
1 – Email your assigned HPRC faculty member to arrange a time for your interview.
2 – Email hprc@ase.tufts.edu to let Melissa Lee know the day and time of your interview. She will have your folder delivered to your interviewer.
3 – Be sure all materials and ALL LETTERS are in your file at least 2 full business days prior to your interview. If something is missing, Melissa will postpone your interview. Please do not pressure your committee member to reschedule quickly due to this problem. Plan ahead.
Just as you will go to your med or dent school interviews and sit with a professional who will want to get to know you, so too your HPRC interviewer will be doing that. This is not a tense or stressful meeting, but rather a nice opportunity to discuss your background, your interests, your accomplishments, your motivation, etc.
Interviews take place between May 5th and July 29th. Committee letters/packets are ready August 1 for those who meet all deadlines, although we will do our best to have them ready and send them in July.
Some interviewers are able to do Skype interviews if students are on the West Coast or a great distance and cannot get to campus for the interview. However, it is in your best interest to have an in-person interview if at all possible.
All applicants are discussed at a committee meeting. All letters are edited by Carol Baffi-Dugan, and all are finally reviewed by Professor Bernheim who signs the letter as chair of the committee. We make every effort to provide each applicant with the most comprehensive and high quality committee letter we can.
Regards,
Carol and Stephanie
