Three Stories of Friendly Customer Service
As we approach the next Quarterly Customer Service Awards, we're highlighting three past stories that focus on being friendly, one of the three PDX People values.
Taylor Jensen, SP Plus Corporation: "Taylor had a 'can-do' attitude and quickly got our car operational again, much to our relief after a long day of travel. We loved his cheerful attitude which helped to lift our spirits and shifted us from feeling somewhat panicky about the situation."
Lindsay Traver, SSP America: "Lindsay has been at SSP America for more than 10 years, and she always goes above and beyond. We couldn't be prouder of the work she does every day; she is one of the pillars our SSP family stands on." Additionally, a customer noted that, "Waiting for a plane has rarely been such a treat as it was being at Hopworks last Wednesday and watching all of your people doing such an enthusiastic job." Lindsay was also featured in a PDX People Spotlight video
Shawna Churchill, Dollar Rent a Car: "I rent cars at PDX almost every weekend and go back to Dollar because their employees go above and beyond, especially Shawna. She remembers me and always greets me by name with a beaming smile. One time I mentioned I had a head cold and without hesitation she grabbed me a cup of tea – her customer service is second to none!"

Delish: PDX Named One of the Best Airports in the World for Eating
As the old adage goes, it's not about the destination, it's about the journey. Especially if you travel in order to eat new dishes, you might know this to be true even at the airport. In fact, for some travelers, it's become one of the more memorable meals of a trip. This Delish article specifically calls out PDX's street pricing, noting that a cup of Stumptown coffee or bowl of handmade noodles from Grassa will only set you back what it would out in the wild.
