Dear Student,
As you prepare to come to campus this fall, we’re writing to share a new addition to the learning resources you will complete during your time at Tufts.
Beginning this year, all students, staff and faculty will be asked to complete a learning module that provides foundational information about our shared responsibilities for maintaining a community free from discrimination and harassment. The module introduces key concepts and expectations related to Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act as well as university policies and expectations, including protections against discrimination based on shared ancestry, religion, race, color, and national origin.
The module addresses forms of antisemitism, racism, Islamophobia, and other forms of hate that can affect members of our community and interfere with our ability to learn, work, and live together. It is intended to help students, staff and faculty understand both their rights and responsibilities as members of the Tufts community and provide a foundation for engaging respectfully across differences.
This is a new required resource for all students and complements other required learning resources, including the Title IX resources students complete before joining Tufts. It is also one of many opportunities you will have throughout your time at Tufts to learn about preventing discrimination and harassment, engaging across differences, and contributing to a community that reflects our shared values of inclusive excellence.
