Take Part in Events Here, There and Everywhere ...
Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center: Family Tour and Drip Painting Workshops Guided by Joyce Raimondo, Education Coordinator, tour the home and studio of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner in East Hampton. Then, make your own drip paintings outdoors on the spectacular grounds. For children ages five and above and adult companions. Saturday, August 16 from 10-11:30 am.
Weaving Words, Weaving Worlds: The Power of Indigenous Language in Contemporary Art On view at the Zuccaire Gallery in the Staller Center through November 22. HOURS: Through August 19, open by appointment, please email Zuccairegallery@stonybrook.edu. Starting August 20, open Monday-Friday 12-4 pm and evenings of Staller Center performances. Learn more.
Navigating Graduate School: The Hidden Curriculum Wednesday, August 20 from 10-11:30 am. All new graduate students are invited to a workshop on student success strategies for graduate school. It is not required but highly recommended. Learn more.

SBUHR: Healthier U - Behavior Change Workshop (Virtual) Whatever behavior you’re looking to change, learn to build realistic, lasting habits on your journey with Healthier U. For the Island Football Game
Stony Brook Football is here! Join us at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Saturday, September 6 at 6 pm for the 2025 home opener as the #24 Seawolves take on the #9 Rhode Island Rams in a top-25 matchup. It’s the “For the Island” game as we celebrate everything and everyone that makes Long Island special. Arrive early for the pregame vendor fair and engage with local mascots throughout the game. Get tickets.
CommUniversity Day
CommUniversity Day Registration, Appliance Donations & LEGO Competition
The Stony Brook University and Stony Brook Medicine community is invited to take part in CommUniversity Day 2025, scheduled for Saturday, September 27. This annual, festival-style event is free and open to the public and will be held from 12-4 pm on the Academic Mall, with an indoor rain plan in place for the same day in the Stony Brook Arena.

Donations Small appliances such as desk fans, hair dryers and toasters are needed for the Appliance Autopsy, where the items will be dismantled by attendees to learn about how they work. Contact communiversityday@stonybrook.edu for drop-off details or any other questions.

LEGO Competition Enthusiasts are invited to build a LEGO creation that exemplifies their vision of community. The competition results will be announced leading up to the CommUniversity Day Ice Cream Social and Rubber Duck Race. Participation is free and registration is required.
